Hello from Duck Creek!
It’s been a while since our last newsletter about what’s going on in the industry, so keep reading for an update! Prices across the board appear to remain stable. The inventory of brass and bullets found at duckcreeksportinggoods.com is indicative of what to expect in the US for the rest of the year.
Kudos to STARLINE BRASS! They remain committed to keeping their supply chain moving in the right direction. So far, Starline has made 3 to 4 cartridges available every month. If your favorite has not been released yet, I’m feeling confident that it eventually will! Duck Creek maintains a back-order log of many calibers produced by Starline, so it is just a matter of time before it appears.
Peterson Cartridge Company anticipates more product releases in September of this year. What to expect is 300 Norma, 300 PRC, 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor’s. There will also be 26, 30 and 33 Nosler. At this time, Duck Creek will not be buying heavily into the Nosler lineup so please notify us if you are interested.
Alpha Munitions LLC will unveil new calibers late this year. So far, they will not disclose what is coming next. Later this summer the 6mm BR and BRA should become available, which will be found in our online store when that happens.
Industry SNAFUS
I have no idea what the story is behind a few unavailable cartridges in the industry. Chiefly, among them is 22-250 Remington, 300 Savage and 35 Remington. I would surmise that 90% of the problem is self imposed by Remington and Winchester, they are just choosing not to release products (unfortunately). This is expected to continue for the rest of this year and probably next year as well.
Norma is clearly an unknown entity about reloading components. Company statements generally outline what they will not produce and then follow up with a FEW releases of a given product. In short, they are very consistent at being inconsistent and clearly outlines why I’ve been unable to stock Norma products on the Duck Creek’s website.
