Originating in 1957, the .454 Casull is one of the most powerful revolver cartridges available today.   Dick Casull magnum version of the .45 Colt first appeared in Freedom Arms 5-Shot unfluted revolver.  Casull cases are thicker than 45 Colt cases, longer and use small rifle primers.  Starline item #2420.  Reduced power loads can be achieved in a Casull chambered revolver by shooting .45 Colt.
