.357 Maximum history:  Sometimes referred to as .357 SUPERMAG was developed in the early 80’s by Ruger and Remington as a silhouette cartridge for the RUGER BLACKHAWK revolver. This beefed-up, elongated .357 Magnum has also been chambered in Dan Wesson revolvers as well as several single-shot rifles and pistols including the T/C Contender.
