BULK BRASS: Odd numbers of cartridge cases result from bulk bagging.  Bulk brass is sold in barrels, generally by weight and it is not uncommon for an odd number of pieces to remain.

.30 REMINGTON historical facts:  The .30 Remington was introduced around 1906 by Remington Arms as a rimless alternative to the .30-30 Winchester. It was designed for use in Remington’s semi-automatic and pump-action rifles, most notably the Remington Model 8, which was among the first successful semi-auto sporting rifles available in the U.S.

At the time, rimless cartridges were considered a technological advancement—more reliable for feeding in semi-autos and pumps than the rimmed .30-30 Winchester. The .30 Remington offered ballistics comparable to the .30-30, with similar bullet weights and velocities, but in a more “modern” rimless case design.
