Description
.22 Hornet brass for sale-Winchester 22 Hornet
Factory new Winchester unprimed 22 Hornet (5.6 X 35 mm) brass rifle cartridge cases. packaged from bulk, 24 PCS
Odd numbers of cartridge cases result from bulk bagging. Bulk brass is sold in barrels, generally by weight and it is not uncommon for an odd number of pieces to remain.
There are two bore diameters associated with the 22 Hornet, .223 in most rifles prior to WWII. Currently only Sierra produces two bullets, the 40-Grain Semi-Spitzer and the 45-grain Soft Point. .224 bore diameter is standard on later production rifles. Experiments conducted at Springfield Armory evolved into the Hornet, which is not similar to any current cartridge. Case walls are thin and easy to crush when reloading if the dies are not adjusted properly. The common twist is 1:16 so 40 and 45 grain bullets seem to work the best with slow pistol and fast rifle powders.
