History: The Remington Ultra Magnum family with the 300 in 1999. The design is based on the beltless 404 Jeffrey. The concept is cases without a belt is to increase powder capacity while using the same diameter bolt face. The result is a increase of approximately 200 feet per second gain over the 300 Win Mag, to do so a large charge of slow burning powders are needed.
